Absolutely Smitten with These Chalkboard Walls...

I've always loved chalkboard walls in the home... but only if they're done right; There's a huge difference between a kid's playroom and a coffee house. Unless you strategically plan a chalkboard wall into your decor, no matter where it is, it will look very juvenile and potentially just dirty {I found that out the hard way... I made a framed chalkboard for my bedroom and it just looked like I robbed a rundown elementary school}.

So, per my little sister's request, here are some gorgeous examples of perfectly placed chalkboard walls...

I too love a good chalkboard, especially in a kitchen where people can write love notes or things to remember on there. Sadly since I myself live in a rented place we can't add anything fancy like that. Instead I'm left to dream up my perfect home in which an entire wall would be dedicated to a chalk board and chalk of all colors! One day.

Wonderful pictures! I too love chalkboard walls! I'm a little too intimidated by them to try one myself, but I have a small chalkboard easel that I use for tablescapes sometimes (to display menus, bday wishes, etc).

We just came across your blog & we're now following. Visit our blog sometime & follow back if you'd like to keep in touch! We'd love to hear from you.

One more thing... ;) I thought you might enjoy this blog: http://www.4men1lady.com/2011/12/my-proudest-diy-moment.html

It's one that I visit frequently & Michelle has an awesome chalkboard wall (just scroll about half way down in the post I linked above). Also, I coveted her striped walls so much that I did them in my own home last year. It's one of my favorite DIY accomplishments.

Loving your blog! :)
