Inside The Sistine Chapel...

The Vatican has created a feature on their website, where you're able to see the Sistine Chapel, in it's entirety, through amazing 360 degree views. Click here to see your own 360 degree views...

I'm definitely impressed.

{Thank you to my mother for finding this little gem...}

A Girl Can Dream About A Set Of Copper Pots...

This past weekend, I made a trip to Williams Sonoma for a brand new wood cutting board. I ended up finding an amazing new cutting board that I am so excited about! While I was there however, I also saw a set of copper pots on 'clearance'. I've always wanted copper pots of my own, but I was completely shocked when I saw just one copper pot, on clearance, cost almost $500!

A girl can dream...

Exploring Milwaukee...

A few photos I took while exploring Milwaukee in the bitter cold this past Sunday...

Buffalo Shrimp Mac 'n Cheese...

A few months ago, the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board asked me to create a recipe using a variety of Wisconsin Cheeses for their 3rd annual '30 Days, 30 Ways with Macaroni & Cheese'. I got to choose from local cheeses like Havarti, Fontina, Limburger, Gruyere and Blue cheese... the options were truly endless.

Ultimately, I chose a Smoked Gouda, Wisconsin Cheddar and Blue combination that was seriously delicious. I think Gouda cheese was the only thing I consumed for a month straight. I combined the cheeses with Frank's Red Hot Buffalo Sauce, shrimp and green onions to create a Buffalo Shrimp Mac 'n Cheese that was so decadent, tangy and rich that it quickly became my new favorite dish to not only create, but to share with all my friends and family as well.

Click here to view my recipe for Buffalo Shrimp Mac 'n Cheese over at 30 Days, 30 Ways with Macaroni & Cheese!

Happy Friday...

Bringing The Barn Door, Indoors...

In college, I had to complete a project for a publication layout class that required me to create a magazine cover for something I truly loved. While I focused my efforts on The Fray {obviously}, my friend Kat {I'm pretty sure we shared all the same classes throughout college} focused her cover on 'barn weddings'. At the time, I had never heard of having a wedding in a barn, but when I came across this first photo of a re-purposed barn door, I immediately thought back to Kat's unique magazine cover concept...

I'm completely smitten with how these barn doors have been incorporated into indoor decor.

A valiant effort for my first adobe experience... I suppose.

Make Me Happy...

Ten things that are making me ridiculously happy this week...

Whenever I see a GIF image online, it makes me feel like I'm reading a newspaper through Harry Potter's eyes.

A cancer walk for my aunt. My cousin and I have got all the details {location, date, t-shirts, time} sorted out for the run/walk we're organizing in memory of my aunt, and we're so ridiculously excited about it all. More details to come!

My new morning smoothie. One packet of sugar free hot chocolate, one banana, 1/4 cup skim milk, one tbsp reduced fat peanut butter and some ice. It's seriously fantastic.

Home Improvement. The writers of that show are geniuses. But I am madly in love with Tim Allen, so I suppose I'm a bit biased.

Video Editing. It's my new thing... video editing. I have continuous shoot on my Canon and have compiled a ton of photos to create somewhat of a 'stop action' slideshow of my sister's college graduation... I have to perfect it first, then I'll post it on the blog!

The days seem to be longer all of a sudden. It might just be me, but I feel like last night and this morning, the sun noticeably set later, and rose earlier. I understand how astronomy and daylight savings works, but it just seemed like a rather drastic and noticeable difference last night and this morning... a welcomed difference for sure. I need sunshine.

This song. Her voice is so beautiful.

Black and white Television. Most nights, I fall asleep to black and white TV. My favorite shows are The Twilight Zone, Perry Mason, I Love Lucy and Petticoat Junction {which isn't completely in black and white, but vintage none the less}. There's something calming about the sound quality of old shows that I just love.

Zest. Orange zest, lemon zest, lime zest... all of it makes me happy. It adds a flavorful bite of citrus to anything. I'm currently on a lemon zest kick, since I mistakenly bought 10 lemons for a recipe that only called for one. Oh well, I love lemons anyways... no harm, no foul.

Small plates. If a restaurant offers small plate options on their menu, I'm gaurunteed to come back. I don't think I've ever finished an entire meal when I've been out to eat, portions have simply gotten too big. Small plates mean I can get the same amount of food as a regular portion, but I can have two options off the menu instead of one... Perfect. {I just had lunch at Wicked Hop in the Third Ward and had a teeny tiny Caesar salad with grilled chicken, it made me happy.}

What is making you ridiculously happy this week?

My Favorite Photos From 2011...

The other day, I was cleaning out my phone {you know, contacts I'd never actually call, a ridiculous amount of food photography, songs that have overstayed their welcome... that kind of thing}, and I stumbled across a few photos that I couldn't bring myself to delete because, well, they're my favorites.

Here are a few of my favorite phone photos from 2011...
